Social Brand Visibility: SimPy

Launched in 2004, Simpy is a web-based personal and social bookmarking service. It used tag clouds to bookmark and recall your favorite places, it’s most advanced feature was the ability to share or keep prive the bookmarks. While others were drawn to the ability to save, tag and search free text notes. The pages ran RSS feeds and bolstered an impressive search tool. It allowed users to work in groups and even develop watch lists a feature coveted by bloggers.

The service was acquired by Reuters and ceased operation as a social bookmarking site in April of that year. It now serves as a forwarding link to news stories covered by Reuters.
