Adobe® Creative Suite® 5.5 – Just Another Version or More?

The world of web design is so frequently changing that even the shortlist of important elements to keep aware of would be very long. However, since the birth of the net, designers have searched for ways to simplify the website creation process.

Enter the Adobe Creative Suite. Designers were already use to using tools such as Adobe Photoshop to create the graphics necessary for rich websites. Over the last iterations Adobe has blurred the line between its desktop publishing software (InDesign) and its web software (Dreamweaver, Flash etc). Whereas InDesign was once only to be used for desktop publishing – it now has features that can take a users designs and export it to web-ready formats.

Then came the tablets…

Then the usage of mobile devices began to explode. Now designers are faced with how to provide aesthetically pleasing, easily navigated web formats that are as functional as their full sized counterparts.

However, there are a few things that are changing now, and in the near term will continue to evolve.

  • How the content is created for these mobile devices
  • How the devices themselves may be used in the creation process
  • How the content is supplied and circulated

With everyone clambering to build the perfect content for mobile devices, Adobe is attempting to play a highly important role with the release of Adobe® Creative Suite® 5.5 that can help to directly address these challenges.

iPad, iPhone, My Tablet?

In an effort to demonstrate that Adobe is fully aware of the increasing popularity of tablets, the new Creative Suite 5.5 was released with tools specifically designed to fully capitalize on the expanding popularity of tablets.

Web developers are often familiar with how Creative Suite can be used to create newspapers, websites, magazines and more. It is also commonly used by designers to help enhance already created content on photos, websites, or even simple documents. Now Creative Suite can be used to deliver high-impact work to multiple platforms, operating systems, web browsers, smartphones and tablets — including Android, BlackBerry Tablet OS and Apple iOS devices.

  1. Damien Fuller says:

Adobe’s CS5 is just one awesome package of software. I don’t know if you would agree with me but its video and audio editing features have greatly improved. I’m using one right now and it’s pretty much easier and it makes audio-video production much exciting. You’ll have fun with CS5, I promise.

  2. George McMillan says:

CS5 would be something every company should have. The software inside the Adobe Creative Suite is a lot of help when creating apps and websites. Photoshop CS5 has better features that its previous versions and it’s easier to use. I think CS5 is not just “another version”.

  3. Ryan McLean says:

Actually, CS5 is actually a better version than CS4. It has more adept features and it is easier to use. There are a lot of getting used to but it doesn’t matter. If you’ve been using CS4 for a long time now, CS5 is not that difficult to learn.
